The School of Physical Education, Health and Sport Sciences at University of Tsukuba aims to bring up leaders in physical education, sports, health and coaching, while making use of the latest scientific research findings in these fields. Leaders are required to have excellent athletic skills and a wide range of athletic experience, as well as comprehensive knowledge of health and physical education, and to have abundant leadership skills and a rich personality.
For this reason, the curriculum of our school allows students to choose an educational program that integrates their main field of study and graduation research area in a distinctive way, while building on their practical skills and methodology in various sports. Furthermore, particular consideration is given to the operation of the program, taking into account its relationship with the graduate school.
The School of Physical Education, Health and Sport Sciences is blessed with various sports facilities and laboratories, and students are able to improve their learning effectiveness in this well-maintained environment. The sports facilities, which are fully equipped for each sport, are of course also fully utilized for club activities. These club activities are not only important for improving athletic skills, but also for gaining rich experience as a human being living in society. They also provide a place to enjoy a comfortable and orderly school life.
The School of Physical Education, Health and Sport Sciences has been sending out graduates since 1977. Graduates of this school are involved not only as teachers of health and physical education at junior high schools, high schools and universities, but also as leaders in community health and physical education, sports coaches and trainers, recreation leaders, and those involved in the media and publishing. They are also involved in a wide range of other fields, such as corporate sports and rehabilitation.
